Best Android Games of July 2020

The theme of the best android games of July 2020 fall on the more dire side. Murderous coworkers, colonialist aliens, and corruptive fogs are only some of the grim challenges you will encounter. Gaming is often seen as an escapist activity, which, in this case, causes some alarm. If we are jumping into doomed dungeons or coliseums full of zombies then what are we trying to escape from?

5). Endurance

Starting off our list is Endurance. This game was made by one person: Ivan Panasenko. How he managed to create this pixelated sci-fi adventure mobile game by himself, I will never know. So, it goes without saying that both Endurance and its solo developer are pretty hardcore.

Endurance is a prequel to Ailment. While the premise is the same (your crazed coworkers are killing everyone in sight and you have to escape the spaceship alive) it takes place on a different spaceship. Endurance also has improved graphics and gameplay mechanics compared to its predecessor.

You can personalize your avatar, just make sure that your name is some derivative of Sam. Samantha, Son of Sam, Sammy, and Samurai Steve are all good options. Everyone will just call you Sam, though. Kinda rude, but everyone on the spaceship is trying to kill you, so being called your unwanted childhood nickname might be the least of your worries.

4.) The Last Stand Zombie Survival

This game proves that zombies have yet to go out of style. The Last Stand Zombie Survival is a mobile PvP shooter that utilizes the Battle Royale format. It sounds to me like a combination of Fortnight and Plants versus Zombies.

Customization is key in this game. Not only can your avatar put on an elaborate fashion show, but you have oodles of weapons to choose from. The controls are straight forward and the gameplay is exciting. You can even invite your friends (or nemesis) to play alongside you.

3.) Earth Wars

Earth Wars by Daerisoft is a near apocalyptic 2D mobile game. The game takes place in 2035 New York. Be prepared to learn some acronyms because that is what our future will be. To get into the spirit of it, I created my own acronym; you might be familiar with it: U.F.O. (unidentified foe-like organisms). Earth Wars calls them E.B.E., and these fellows want to destroy the planet. Luckily, you are going to stop them. Don’t worry, you’ll have help. The United Earth Commander-in-Chief has given you a group of A.N.T.I. advanced troops to lead.

With simple controls, fun gameplay, and engaging visuals, who wouldn’t want to try their hand at saving the world? Though, 2035 is not that far away. Who knows when acronymic aliens will invade. You should probably get some practice now so when the apocalypse arrives in fifteen years you won’t let us down.

2.) Drake N Trap

Drake N Trap is a dungeon-crawler game with a twist. Mobirix Corp and Drake Mount have so kindly added in sprinkles of RPG, strategy, and puzzle games. So, if you are looking to mix things up a bit, this is the game for you.

The intuitive gameplay enhances the fun feel that comes from the upbeat music and cartoon-like animation. Not to mention that you play as a character named Wolf Child. That’s a pretty wicked name. It’s no surprise that you are the alpha of the group.

The dungeons are full of traps and enemies. It will take a sharp and attentive eye in order to survive. Delve deeper into the dungeons as a lone wolf or through the online multiplayer format. Whichever you decide, you are in for a charming and challenging experience.

1.) Pascal’s Wager

July’s number one mobile game is a thrilling 3D action RPG by Giant Global. Pascal’s Wager is named after the philosophic argument which suggests that each human bets their life on whether or not God is real. This sets up the tone of this dark fantasy world quite nicely.

You play as two characters: Terrance and Norwood. Learning how to interchange them effectively during gameplay is essential. As you voyage through perilous landscapes searching for the next altar, collect bone fragments to level up. The end goal is to find the mythical Colossal Grave. It is humanity’s last hope.

The sun has sunken to the bottom of the ocean, plunging the world into darkness. A thick, malicious fog called the Sendril presents a constant threat to your sanity and those that fall to the Sendril are corrupted and become marred. But not all hope is lost. The Colossi have become a source of light that can fend off the Sendril. Humans were forced to return to their nomadic ways in order to stalk the Colossi wherever they go. No light, no life. Those are the new rules of the world.

The more time you spend battling the marred the more of your sanity the Sendril snatches from you. Watch as you fall from grace into the Abnormal or Lunatic state. The further you slip, the more power the marred have over you. This unique concept keeps the gameplay engaging, especially when you realize that insanity presents differently in different people. Terrance and Norwood are no exceptions.

Do you think that you can survive the malicious marred and fearsome fog? Do you think that you can save the world? Or will you descend into irate insanity, dooming everyone to the same fate? Either way, pick this gem up.
