Best Android Games of the Month – May 2023
Another month and another slew of games have been dropped from the heavens. It’s time to dig through the digital bin and determine the best android games of the month. Hardcore Droid is here to offer the top five games released and worth your time. With simulators, gachas, RPGs and some of the dumbest ways to die, here are the best games from May 2023.
5. Farming Simulator 2023 Mobile
Do you, like John Denver, thank God you’re a country boy? Are you a lover of agriculture? Do you want to, kind of, know what it’s like to be a true farmer? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may feel out of place in 2023. Also, you’ll love Farming Simulator 2023 Mobile. This game offers over a dozen crops for you to cultivate, a series of different machinery to use to harvest said crops and a series of farm animals for you to take care of. All jokes aside, Farming Simulator offers astonishing graphics, realistic agricultural processes and a lot of fun tending to a farm for which you truly take ownership. It’s a beautiful game with addicting mechanics.
4. Peridot
Peridot is a pet simulation with a twist. In a similar vein as Tamagotchi and other pet raising games, Peridot offers a variety of unique pets for you to raise. However, the pets in the game come with unique DNA that makes each pet specific to only you. Moreover, you can take your pets, or Dots, out for a walk and see the world through their eyes. You can meet up with your friends and provide your Dots with a playdate. Peridot is part Tamagotchi and part Pokemon Go. It’s a fun evolution of the pet simulator. It requires some imagination, but those willing to commit will build a strong bond with their Dots making this one of their top games for a long time.
3. Dumb Ways to Die 4
The cutesy, hilarious and morbid game is back with its fourth installment. Dumb Ways to Die 4 is a return to form for the series with addicting mini games, new areas for adventure and the ability to challenge your friends. If you’ve played any of the previous games in the series, you know what you are getting yourself into. If not, oh boy! Save your adorable bean friends from certain death or watch them meet their demise in a variety of grotesquely cute ways. Dumb Ways to Die 4 is sure to provide a ton of fun and a barrel of laughs.
2. Aether Gazer
If you’re looking for a somewhat confusing but wholly entertaining story, then Aether Gazer is one you should check out this month. Much of what you’d expect from an anime gacha game, Aether Gazer is a dense, beautiful and engaging game with a confusing story you won’t want to end. There is an ungodly amount of content here for me to discuss everything. Build squads, hunt for loot and join events to show off your abilities. There is a fair amount of strategy built into every battle, but rest assured, there is no way this game will become a bore. It’s a gorgeous game with lots to do.
1. Lost Worlds: Beyond the Page
Lost Worlds: Beyond the Page is one of the most intriguing and beautiful games I’ve experienced in a long time. Taking place inside the journal of a young girl, players navigate the pages to unravel the story. Part text adventure, part platformer, all mesmerizing, Lost Worlds: Beyond the Page is an atmospheric narrative compelling you to turn the next page. The first two chapters of the game are free, but the final six are available through in-app purchase. Trust me when I say, it’s worth the price of admission.
