Shine up Your Chainmail, We’re Going Slicing with Slice Knight.
Missing a good old fashioned Renaissance Fair? Zoom-only D & D campaigns got you down? Rejoice! Salvation is at hand. “Slice Knight” from PixelRain studios is now available on Google Play.
The focus is simple. No deception in the title. You are a knight. You slice. Players are knights in open arenas. As monsters approach, swing your sword and chop ‘em up. Bombs are periodically thrown. Dodge them for historical accuracy. Slice open crates to gather coins and weapons.
“Slice Knight” has vintage, pixelated graphics. The stout, anatomically improbable knight swings his weapons pretty well for someone with no arms! Any fan of cabinet games will delight at the aesthetic and the simplicity. The levels are short and sweet. Should a player die, they begin at the level they perished in.
Intrepid players can switch their weapons. No need to stick with simply the sword, when the axe is mightier! The functions and objectives remain the same. Swing that weapon in an arc. Slice your enemies.
Early reports suggest the controls are a little glitchy. But for those craving simple, compulsive fun, this will be hard to beat. Free as it is, is it worth the price of download? Stay tuned for the Hardcore Droid review.
