The indie-developed mobile game Sword Master Story now has more than 6 million downloads, according to the game’s publisher. .SuperPlanet and developer Code Cat launched it on October 5, 2022, for Android and iOS devices. The game is an auto-battle gacha RPG where players take the role of the Sword Master as he collects Heroes to aid him in battle. The game stands out for its highly detailed pixel art sprites, which give it an appealingly retro aesthetic.
SuperPlanet announced Sword Master Story’s three million download milestone early this month. “Sword Master Story” is a symbol of longevity among indie games,” the publisher said in a recent press release. The publisher also drew attention to the game’s impressive 4.6/5 rating on Google Play. Sword Master Story additionally enjoys a user rating of 4.8/5 on the App Store. Both platforms have featured the game multiple times. In fact, Sword Master Story is one of Google Play’s featured games for April.
The Goddess of Love
In addition to the game’s growing popularity, Code Cat and SuperPlanet announced the addition of the game’s latest hero. “The Rascal of Olympus” Eros is an Archer Hero with unique abilities. Loosely inspired by Cupid, this love goddess damages enemies with her first arrow and heals allies with her second. Eros also gets stronger depending on how many other Archer Heroes are in the player’s party. Her passive ability, “Soul of Love and Immortality,” increases all party members’ Health and Defense stats. Meanwhile, Eros’ “Goddess of Love” Ability increases her allies’ Attack Damage while boosting Eros’ Ability Damage and effectiveness against bosses.
