Sneak Peek Video
Action Square has released a promotional video and artwork for their upcoming game Kingdom: The Blood, an online multiplayer third-person action RPG based on the Netflix series Kingdom. The game promises to follow the show’s central theme of “inheriting the royal bloodline.” This plot premise is what drives the zombies to go rampant.
Kingdom: The Blood will be cross-platform on both PC and mobile. The game will recreate the world of the show using high-quality graphics and motion capture in Unreal Engine 4. The game will also feature manual gameplay as opposed to automatic gameplay, making the player feel more involved. The developer hasn’t revealed any further details or planned a release date yet.
Kingdom -the show Kingdom: The Blood is based on- first released in 2019, gaining popularity due to its unique setting. The series is a mystery thriller taking place during the Joseon era with a tense story and fast pace. Because Kingdom: The Blood is so closely connected to its namesake, it’s likely the two will share many similarities. It’s currently unknown if the plot will follow the series’ plot or if it will differentiate itself, acting more as a spinoff.
Action Square- the game’s developer- is best known for action game Blade of Kakao. It was the first mobile game to win the Korea Game Award. Action Square is known for their action games, so Kingdom: The Blood seems like a good fit for them. For its development, Action Square has also partnered with production studio AStory. Development of the game has been progressing for about a year now. Action plans to continue developing games that use Netflix IP in the future.
That is all the information we have on the title at the moment. The developer will reveal more in the future. Keep an eye out for a release date and a review from Hardcore Droid after release.
