Virtual Reality
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp’s just received a major update that puts it back into the spotlight. The most recent update to Nintendo’s free to play Android game allows you to bring your favorite characters into the real world using AR modes. There are two choices available when it comes to the AR modes: AR Camera or AR Cabin. Both modes allow you to place your favorite Animal Crossing characters wherever you want via your phone camera.
The AR Camera mode is, as the name suggests, where you choose one of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp’s many characters and place them in your surroundings. You can then pose them in a scene and take a photo. You can even place in-game furniture in the real world.
The second mode, AR Cabin, allows players to interact with their own virtual reality cabin, which they can decorate using in-game furniture. Like the AR Camera mode, you can also add in Animal Crossing characters. Up to eight characters can make an appearance at one time in the cabin, leading to a virtual party.
There’s one more gift Nintendo has for their players: a month’s free trial of the Furniture and Fashion Plan. This plan’s usual cost is $7.99 monthly. This offer is available to both new players and current players who haven’t signed up for it yet. Gaining extra storage for furniture and clothing is the biggest perk of this plan. This allows you to continue collecting as well as customizing furniture and clothing. There is one more perk to it: choosing and eating five fortune cookies each month from those on sale. You can find exclusive items inside of these treats.
Along with this update was a warning from Nintendo that “certain smart devices will no longer be supported.” Nintendo did provide information on supported devices. If your smartphone runs Android OS 5.0 or newer, you’ll be able to keep playing Animal Crossing and enjoy the latest updates.
