How to Train Your Dragon
“Stop asking how to train your dragon!” Anxious Otter Games delivers this curious admonition with the release of Idle Dragon Tycoon, now available on Google Play. The makers of Idle Space Farmer don’t want you to ask about training dragons, they want you to experience it yourself.
In this idle strategy simulator, you’ll work toward establishing a dragon empire. You’ll do this by building a dragon farm and using the idle income you earn to evolve your dragons. You’ll also use your rewards to grow your farm. Manage your farm correctly, and you’ll end up with a stable of over 100 dragons, making you a true dragon tycoon. Anxious Otter Games stresses that your dragons will continue to grow while you’re offline. What’s more, they promise that you’ll be spared the mindless tapping of other online clicker games.
Idle Dragon Tycoon wears its Pokemon influence on its sleeve. The artwork for the game displays a collection of dragons in a wide variety of shapes and colors. And, of course, there’s the emphasis on evolving your dragon into newer, bigger forms. Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be any dragon-to-dragon combat. However, the game does promise a brightly colored dragon world to explore. The biggest selling point, as you’d expect from an idle game, is that you’ll earn income and your dragons will grow while you’re offline. Hopefully, the game lives up to its potential.
Idle Dragon Tycoon is free to download, although it does include both ads and in-app purchases. How intrusive or necessary they are remains to be seen.
