The Wizards of the Coast team have announced that the 2018 PC game, Magic: The Gathering Arena will be released in early access on Google Play this month. Specifically, Magic: The Gathering Arena will be available on some Android devices starting January 28th. The cross-platform full version (with iOS support) will be released later this year but no date has been announced yet. If you’re worried about your device supporting the early access version, there’s a list of supported devices available on the MTG website as well as a full spec sheet.
Much has been promised of the long-awaited mobile adaptation by the Wizards of the Coast team. Included in the mobile adaptation are all of the cards and formats from the original PC game. The upcoming release of Kaldheim is included in that lineup and will bring Vikings into play. What hasn’t been mentioned is if there have been changes to the game to fit it on a smaller screen.
Just as there isn’t a release date for the full version, there’s no Google Play link live or pre-registration link. However, Wizards of the Coast promises there will be more information about MTG Arena in their January State of the Game.
