Off to the Slammer
Who knew running a prison could make a lot of money? Codigames presents Prison Empire Tycoon, an idle game where it’s your job to manage a prison. Profit off prisoners and improve the complex while you keep a watchful eye on everyone. Let the fun begin.
Fast Cash
The rather run-down prison just hired you as their new manager. The more prisoners you have, the more money you earn. You get paid for every new prisoner and for each hour they stay at the prison. If a prisoner ends up reformed, you also get paid when they leave. Sometimes a special, and more dangerous, inmate will arrive at the complex. Though he’ll earn you extra profit, there’s also a chance he’ll incite a riot. So, make sure you have enough guards. Additionally, you also earn extra profits by watching the occasional ad. So, what do you do with all this money? Keep your prisoners comfortable of course.
Every prisoner has six needs: Hunger, Health, Hygiene, Entertainment, Security and Comfort. Use money you earn to improve areas like the cells, exercise yard, cafeteria, kitchen, and restrooms. Upgrade the check-in area to process inmates faster and improve the security room to better equip the guards and cameras. To enhance the prisoner’s moods, it would be a good idea to purchase a laundry room and infirmary. Electricity and water power these areas, so be sure to improve the Electric Generator room and Water Pumping Station. The more you improve areas, the more electricity and water they use. Improving the generator and pumping station will help you keep up with the demands of the prison. Just remember, when inmates are happy, they’ll be less likely to riot, and avoiding riots is always a good thing.
10-66 in Progress
Unfortunately, Prison Empire Tycoon isn’t without its faults. The laundry room and infirmary are some of the last rooms you buy solely for one reason: they’re expensive. It seems odd that those rooms would be hard to get, considering they’re rather essential. The lack of clean clothes and healthcare lead to riots that often kill all your guards. Hiring more guards is expensive because they come with salaries. This can eat into your earnings quite a bit. On top of that, you can’t upgrade certain areas until you increase the electricity and/or water output. Those are expensive in their own right. Even though you can buy everything eventually, it be nice if they were less pricey.
Rehabilitated
Prison Empire Tycoon is a delightful idle game that has you running the daily operations of a prison. More prisoners means more money, and a fully upgraded complex ensures you’ll have a lot of prisoners. There are some budgeting issues, but nothing that the casual gamer can’t handle.
Is it Hardcore?
Kinda...
This game makes running your own prison seem easy. Certain areas are needlessly expensive, but there’s no stall in the gameplay.
