RuneScape PvP Now Optional
RuneScape is altering the rules for The Wilderness, the game’s PvP zone. The ruleset change means that PvP combat is now optional. Players now need to opt-in for PvP since the option now defaults to off. Additionally, the area will now have a more significant focus on player versus monster combat.
RuneScape is a vastly popular MMORPG that launched over twenty years ago as a PC browser game. Since then, the game has been made available for mobile devices and allows for cross-platform progression and play on mobile and PC.
With this makeover comes a new title for the PvP area, Wilderness Reborn. Wilderness Reborn is more welcoming to players of all skill levels and gaming preferences. Beyond aesthetic and rule changes, Wilderness Reborn includes a new quest, Daughter of Chaos. The quest is the start of the new Legacy of Zamboorak storyline.
The Daughter of Chaos quest is built to be enjoyable for players both new and old and emphasizes player versus monster combat. Upon completing the quest, players will unlock a 10 percent damage reduction and a 5 percent damage boosting bonus. These bonuses stay active while the player is within the Wilderness Reborn area. In addition, the Daughter of Chaos quests lays a foundation of new lore, which will guide this season of RuneScape storyline for the next six months.
Throughout the year, Runescape will add new events and content to the Wilderness, including a Wilderness-themed Yak Track, which will launch late this summer.
