Mazes and Myths
Greek mythology is a popular theme in video games, as seen in series like God of War and Immortals Fenyx Rising. The new visual novel Unmaze seeks to offer new takes on these same myths.
Out now on Google Play, Unmaze is a visual novel with two leads, Asterion and Theseus. Interaction with Unmaze’s two characters is done through text choices and the phone’s light sensor. If you play more when it is dark you will help Asterion escape the maze. While if you play more in the light you’ll help Theseus. Helping one character will also alter your relationship with the other as they cannot both escape the game’s titular maze.
Beyond Light and Dark
Unmaze features five chapters, and ten different mazes to escape. The choices you make during the story will also lead you to one of eight different endings. While it has no reviews on the Play Store as of writing, Hardcore Droid will have our take on this modern myth with a review in the near future.
Unmaze’s first chapter is available to download and play for free on the Google Play Store, while the rest of the game can be had for $4.99.
