Best Android Games of October

The spookiest season is upon us. Mystery and intrigue linger beyond every corner and in every shadow. While some will venture out into the frosty night of Halloween, others will choose a different path.

Following family tradition, I will hunker down on Halloween night with the shades drawn and lights off, avoiding any unwanted social interactions. The greatest mystery is now not which house hands out king-size candy bars, but how will I avoid the ghosts that are surely roaming through the halls?

Luckily for me, the best mobile games of October will provide five grand titles to keep me company. Instead of dressing up as a dead twin, a dinosaur or a fighter pilot, I can play as a murderous robot, world conqueror or tragic hero. Whatever you do, just remember that the nights are only getting longer and colder. With this in mind, download a new mobile game to assist you through this scary season.

5. Darkfire Heroes

To start off the best Android games of October list, we have Darkfire Heroes brought to us by Rovio Entertainment of Angry Birds fame. This RPG thrusts you into a world that has been taken over by meteor-borne creatures. In fact, it is almost as if our dinosaur ancestors have come back to haunt us via the very method that caused their destruction. In a weeklong meteor shower, evil creatures sprouted wherever the Darkfire meteors landed. And they weren’t going to play nice. Destruction was the only thing on their mind, and that is what they caused wherever they went.

Would this lead to human extinction? Well, that’s up to you. In a stunning effort to survive this new evolutionary challenge, heroes from across the world have joined together. With this in mind, aid in this group’s effort as they start an epic adventure through their new world, engaging in battle with new foes. What’s more, each hero is part of a traditional class (healer, tank, etc.), has a distinct look and unique powers.

Nevertheless, the heroes aren’t the only thing that gives Darkfire Heroes a sense of variety. With side quests, a multiplayer mode and an auto-play option, this game will entertain you for hours.

So, will you adapt or die?

4. Sky Combat

Next up is Axur Interaction Games’ Sky Combat. Many have compared this new flight simulator to Ace Combat. Additionally, we can all admire Sky Combat’s attention to detail. The planes included in this mobile game have origins from all around the world, and each has been designed from real-life aircraft.

While staying true to the crafts’ actual designs, the amount of customization that is offered to players adds to the excitement when making the critical choice of which fighter jet to pilot. Sky Combat also has a stellar reward system, making sure to hit that dopamine button in your brain.

As you fly across the world, you will run into an enemy bogey or two. This is where the fun begins. Each match, you have access to a machine gun as well as guided and unguided missiles. I’m sure that the dogfight to come will be one for the history books. Just make sure to fuel up at bases along the way so you are prepared for your next sky battle.

Sky Combat is an online game. This has some drawbacks, like always having to be connected to Wi-Fi or data, and it can sometimes be hard to find an opponent to battle against. An offline campaign mode would elevate this game to the next level. The developers seem responsive to feedback, though, so fingers crossed.

3. Iron Wars Mech Battle

Do you love robots? Do you love third-person shooters? Do you love mobile games? If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, Iron Wars Mech Battles might just be for you. This is a fairly simple game. Get a robot (technically called a mech) and another and another. Upgrade, upgrade, upgrade. Win, win, win.

Collectables like coins and diamonds will help you on your way to victory. By all means, cash these in for extra items and upgrades. Even so, make sure you save your diamonds for the high-priced items. a little restraint and patience will go a long way after all. What does all this upgrading and winning lead to, you might ask? Well, I’ll tell you. It reveals to us the core of the game: robots shooting robots. What a truly beautiful thing.

2. Conflict of Nations World War III

Warning! Only the most hardcore of gamers should download this next game. Patience, planning and persistence are all required. World domination is not for the weak willed.

Conflict of Nation World War III is the runner up on our list of the best Android games of October. This title was previously only available on PC but has now been released on mobile. This addition to Bytro Labs and Dorado Games’ strategic military series requires a learning curve, especially if you are a newcomer. Your first item of business is to choose a country, literally any country. Although, there is a simplified map that covers mainly Europe for those who want to narrow down their options. Your choice is not arbitrary. Each country has distinct strengths and weaknesses that will require a tailored approach. After you have made your choice, the race to world domination begins.

Steeped in realism, this game takes time. It takes dedication. It takes commitment. Do not download unless you are ready to join together with this game. Until death and destruction do us part, am I right?

1. Genshin Impact

Number one on the list of best Android games of October goes to Genshin Impact by miHoYo. Genshin Impact is an open-world action RPG with gacha elements. There are plenty of reasons to get excited by this game, one of them being that there were 10 million pre-registrations, making this an out-of-the-door success.

Genshin Impact is based on a manga series that came out in 2018. It is a single-player game in which you take on the role as a traveler from another world. Firstly, the game presents you with a set of twins and tasked with choosing which one you will play. You should be advised, however, that the twin you do not choose will soon fall upon misfortune, leaving your character stranded on a foreign world alone.

Exploring the world of Teyvat becomes an immersive experience as the stellar graphics, remarkable soundtrack and impressive details pull you in. Even using the lowest quality options, the graphics are still crisp and smooth.

There are lots of ways to spend your time in Genshin Impact and even more to come. Presently, miHoYo has released only two of the seven regions available in this world. Explore, climb, fly, battle. Solve puzzles, engage in scavenger hunts, enter competitions. The options are almost limitless. There is even a multiplayer mode that lets you play across platforms.

Overall, Genshin Impact is a dream come true. If that is something that sounds appealing to you, I highly suggest you give it a try.
